They are about the same price (I think). Nos 25 shot will give me more hp and cools down the intake temperature, but I'm afraid it's going to be too much for my stock internal supercharged (6psi) 98 GSR (23k miles). Water injection sounds safer, but how effective is it at reducing detonation? What do you think? Is it ok to do both?

    ???

Nitrous to reduce detonation? You going to fill a new nitrous bottle up every day?

And how you going to regulate it so that it just mists? you going to run a 1/4 HP shot constantly??

Screw water and etc..I don't think that there has been enough R&D with our engines to go and do it, if it worked so well, everyone would be doing it. Get the J&S safeguard, MSD BTM, larger injectors, and a new FMU, that will keep you safe until you start going above 8-9 psi, then you need to rebuild. I say just run the nitrous for the track, and not for the cooling on the street.

Thanks. I'm thinking about ordering a Venom 50 hp kit (when it comes out), because it has that adjustable linear mode. "In this mode, the user programs at what throttle angle should be the starting point for the introduction of nitrous. The control module then adds a proportionate amount of nitrous in relation to throttle angle. The higher the throttle angle, the greater the nitrous flow..."

Well, that sounds good, but that is too much, a 50 shot on top of the 6 psi kit will be like running 10-12 psi, which will spell awful destruction for your motor. Get a 20 shot or so and go from there.

StopWhiningU- 50 shot is too big to start with. Like Crom said start with the 25shot, unless you are going to build up the bottomend. Good luck

Nitrous DOES NOT help control detonation. The common misconception is that because it has a "cooling effect" that it will reduce the onset of detonation. Normally, this would be true, but when you add in the introduction of additional molecules of Oxygen, the air/fuel mix burns faster, and thus creates a condition in which your timing is too advanced to burn without creating excess heat. Excess heat leads to detonation. One would have to retard the timing about 2 to 4 degrees to counteract this...

Then again, retarding the timing 4 degrees would probably cure your detonation problem anyway, so why get the nitrous ???
